Doctor insights on:
Recreational Dose Of Oxycodone
What doc prescribed: If this was prescribed, the dose the doctor wants you to take is on the prescription, and your pharmacist can further explain how to use it. If it was not prescribed, then ZERO would be the right dose for you. These are not questions anyone should be asking anyone other than the prescriber and their pharmacist. Strangers who do not know your health history are not the best source of information.
Depends: Under the care of a physician who is familiar with opioid medications and provides the appropriate education on their use this dose may be as low as 5mg. Always start low and slowly increase as needed under the direction of your physician. Medications should never be altered or changed without physician direction.
Pain mgt, dr. Placed me oxycondone 5mg instead of perc.10/325. Am I going to have more pain with this lower dose of oxycodone 5mg? I cannot do that.
No: You are not. Give your doctor a chance to guide your care. Give the new medicine three days and see. If it's better, great! If not, keep your doctor abreast. Keeping a positive attitude, and faith in their caring for your well-being will go a long way to getting better. Dosage for different medicines is not as critical as trust, judgment, and experience.See 1 more doctor answer
It depends: Even among experts the notion of opiate equivalences can be considered controversial especially if one becomes overly specific. Genetic and other contextual variable including the amount and duration all play a role. This is not a question for you to try and figure out. It is challenging enough for your physician!
If you are dependent: On oxycodone, and you take suboxone BEFORE you are in active withdrawal, you will very much wish you had waited!! SUboxone will cause precipitated withdrawal in people who are not already in withdrawal, and precipitated withdrawal is far more severe than naturally developing withdrawal, and can actually be life-threatening, with seizures, delirium and very very severe withdrawal symptoms.
Tapering from oxycodone. 60hours since last 2mg dose. Its been rough but better. Is the worst likely over an should I start feeling better from here
How long would it take oxycodone to leave your system if it was a low dose of 5 mg I have only been taking it about 2 months periodically for pain?
3-5 days: The drug will likely be out of your system 3-5 days after the last dose. You may consult this site for info: http://www. Mayomedicallaboratories. Com/test-info/drug-book/viewall. Html For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
I have 7.5/325 oxycodone for pain. I hit the 4000 APAP max for daily dose yesterday but stayed up all night. When is it safe to take more and not OD?
Hmmm: 12-13 pills a day and you're worried about acetometophen overdose. You are addicted to opiods and experiencing increased pain due to this. Get help or you'll soon be wondering why 20-30 pills a day isn't enough
Roxicet 10 ml: Roxicet liquid has 5mgm/ml, so 10 ml is 50 mgm.
2-4 days: Depending on how you metabolize it. The larger question is what is behind what you are asking. I would guess that you are being drug tested. If you are in a position where drug testing is possible, yet you still take a drug that is NOT prescribed for you, with the possibility of getting into trouble, perhaps even going to jail, if you test positive, to me that means a drug problem. Longer: The longer you can tolerate the pain the better to avoid more dependency. Typically at least a 4-6 hours interval is physiologic for short acting oxycodone. If ur requiring more due to pain then ask md about extended release.
A long time: Would advise against this combination, these medications would have additive effects and high potential for dangerous side effects.See 1 more doctor answer
I have been prescribed oxycodone to take for the rest of my life for fibromyalgia. How many years and what doses is normal?
It depends: I've never told a patient that they will be on whatever I prescribe for the rest of their life. Nobody has a crystal ball and can predict the future. Certain types of exercise, and cognitive behavioral therapy can help.. Medications can help. First line: cymbalta, savella, (milnacipran) and lyrica. Second line: pamelor, elavil, and neurontin. I avoid narcotics like oxycodone; there is no proof that they work.
If already in withdrawal from Oxycodone, can I take the suboxone without gettin precipitated WD even if it's only been 15-17hrs since last dose of oxy?
Most likely: Officially, you need to wait at least 24 hours. Practically, many people do it and even earlier. Legally, you need to do it in the presence of your doctor. Practically, if you are sweating, have muscle cramps, goosebumps, diarrhea – you can do it. Just start with a very small piece of the film to test if you are not precipitating further problems. Good luck. Get treatment.
