How do they drain an 4cm ovarian cyst? Do they cut ? How long is the recovery time?

Otherwise, if it is presumptively benign, a laparoscopic removal(cystectomy) would be performed. If it is more suspicious, open surgery may be indicated. The cysts are not drained, they are removed. ...Read more

I have a ovarian cysts that is causing a lot of pain doctor has said he will refer me to get it drained when its drained
can it come back?

Depends what it is: If it is a functional cyst it likely will not come back although it could, if it is not functional (endometrioma, inclusion cyst, benign tumor etc....) they will recur about 85%-100% of the time. It's important to have at least a very good guess what it "is" before draining. ...Read more
