What is the normal recovery time after 2 lg pes and a dvt..And should I see a pulmonologist?

2-4 months, and No: Usually the clots in your lungs dissolve over a period of months. Once this has occurred, you should feel pretty normal. Recovery from DVT and the leg swelling that goes along with it is variable. Sometimes people end up with long term swelling, lasting years. Some folks have little or no swelling after...Your pmd can take care of this problem usually. Heme doc good when cause of clots unclear. ...Read more

Is running bad for recovery from a dvt? Popiteal vein. On warfarin.

Be careful, warfarin: Really, i think the answer has more to do with the warfarin you are on, not the running. I think it is better if you are on anything that can thin your blood (think Coumadin (warfarin), or Lovenox (enoxaparin) (a type of Heparin you can give at home)) you should avoid activities prone to injury, falls during running are one of those activities. I'm 14weeks pregnant and tired all the time so i lay down all day except for when i need to go to the toilet, make food etc. Am i going to get a dvt?

Probably not: Fatigue in pregnancy is extremely common, but in women where this might be exaggerated, a review of things like your blood counts (looking for anemia) should be discussed. And yes, women in pregnancy are prone to blood clots especially if they are 'immobilized'. So, during the day, get up and move around when you are awake every couple of hours. ...Read more

Hypercoagulable: Wow, you're pretty young to have had 3 dvts already. Make sure you get tested for any specific hypercoagulable state. Check out http://clevelandcliniclabs.Com/portals/66/pdf/techbriefs/tb_hypercoagulabilitythrombophilia.Pdf for list of some tests. Ask about using novel/new oral anticoagulants like direct thrombin or factor xa inhibitors that won't require testing or special diet. More expensive. ...Read more
