Common infection: Bacterial vaginosis (bv) is a common treatable vaginal infection caused by an overgrowth and inbalance of vaginal bacteria. This upset increases ph. Nitrites in vaginal fluid causes a fishy smell. Typically BV is treated with oral Metronidazole (flagyl), rarely vaginal gel, while abstaining during treatment. Certain probiotic vaginal capsules used can help the vagina regrow normal bacterial flora. ...Read more
