Iron: Most iron pills contain ferrous iron. Ferrous sulfate, ferrous fumarate, and ferrous gluconate are the 3 common forms. All three come in a 325 mg tablet size, but each contains a different amount of “elemental iron”., which is what is absorbed. Fe Sulfate contains 65 mg; Fe gluconate contains only 35 mg elemental iron. Hence, not as much Fe per tablet. Fe fumarate contains 108 mg iron. ...Read more

Depends on disease: If a person was normal and then got a new illness (an acute illness) causing acute kidney failure, he might need dialysis while waiting for his kidneys to heal. If his kidneys heal well enough, he can stop dialysis. However, if a person has chronic kidney disease and has been losing kidney function over the years, his kidneys don't heal up after he starts dialysis. He continues to need dialysis. ...Read more

Can you tell me if a person is recieving dialysis and decieded to stop treatment.How long would they live?

Dialysis: Usually not very long. Water accumulates and that makes breathing more difficult. Urea accumulates and that makes the person sleepy and eventually unarousable. Blood salts get all messed up and that can cause the heart to stop suddenly. This is just for starters. The longest I have seen a patient live after stopping dialysis is 1 week, but I am sure there are reports of people going longer. ...Read more
