Progestin is used to thin out uterine lining. But i passed 1 inch thick piece of lining after over dosing myself with progestin for 3 weeks. Why?

Does both: Progestins can thin the endometrium but they also will cause sloughing of a secretory endometrium, it depends on the specific situation and timing. Btw it's not really possible to 'overdose' on progestins, good news! ...Read more

No: 7mm would likely be consistent with the endometrium specimen that shows mild proliferative. Proliferative just means the lining is getting prepared for ovulation. In general once the lining gets over 15mm in thickness then we start worrying about the possibility of hyperplasia. If overly concerned consider getting an endometrial ablation. I prefer Novasure. That should end all bleeding issues. ...Read more
