Reasons For Colonoscopy Procedure To Be Aborted
I had anal fissure diagnosed after colonoscopy about 4 years back. Reason 4 procedure: 1-time blood in stool. Ok since, but anything I need to do now?
NO: Not sure I fully understand your question. If you are having no symptoms from your fissure that was found a year ago, then there is nothing else to do. It sounds like it has already healed.See 1 more doctor answer
Know that feeling of air in your shoulders after a colonoscopy well I have that painful feeling for no reason. Why? What would cause that
No: I never heard of anyone having a feeling of air in their shoulders from a scope in their large intestine, but if you are having pain in your shoulders it would be wise to get an exam to determine why. Best wishes.
I recently had a colonoscopy done and it all came back normal but I am still having some digestive issues. Any reason as to why this keeps happening?
Digestion is other o: The colon is not the primary organ involved in digestion. The gallbladder, pancreas, stomach, and small intestine are more involved in the digestive process. You need to discuss your problems with your digestion with your MD as these problems relate to the organs mentioned here.
During a colonoscopy a few weeks ago I remember my upper body being moved and/or shaken a bit by the nurse and doctor. Any reason for that?
Repositioning: Sometimes during a colonoscopy it is necessary to reposition you. This may allow for easier passage of the scope. It may also be done for other issues, like to improve your breathing or put you in a more comfortable position if you moved. Most colonoscopies are done under sedation and you are not entirely unconscious. You may remember parts of what happens but not the entire context.
Had a colonoscopy today and was told to avoid driving until after breakfast tomorrow am. Reason-impaired judgement. Is this really necessary?
Yes: It is, because you probably received a sedative that will impair your judgement for a day
I am 30 and IBS issues. I did colonoscopy but nothing found. I am better now but for some reason my hair turning grey slowly slowly since then?
If I? celiacs and had EGD and colonoscopy (for different reason) with (-)biopsy for celiacs, is there any benefit to having blood test 3 yr later?
Have had colonoscopy/endoscopy, ct, bloodtests etc- for what reason am I getting so tired EVERYTIME after I eat? Immune disease?
Depends on food: With tests ruling our the presence of malignancy or process that might produce fatigue, the answer may be in the meal content and the time of the meal. If meals are high in carbohydrates which enter the GI tract there is a need to dilute the concentrated food, Fluid leaves the blood stream and enters the GI tract causing a diminution of blood to brain resulting In drowsiness.
I had a rad hysterectomy and radiation in 1998. Last year a colonoscopy and endoscope, all clear. Have ibs. What could be the reason for the lower right quadrant of my abdomen being distended.
Many things: It is reassuring that the scopes were normal. The surgery can cause scar tissue called adhesions. Ibs can also cause accumulation of gas. The surgery can cause some weakness of the abdominal muscles. As long as the tests (ct scans, etc) are normal, I would recommend trials of diet changes and probiotics and exercise.See 2 more doctor answers
When liver cirrhosis blood in stool made colonoscopy there is no proof bleeding everything is normal what is reason for bleeding? How can I diagnose
Colonscopy a couple days ago. Now for some reason my butt bone hurts or tailbone should I say. When I bend over ir when I sit down sometimes. Hurt?
Curious.: There is no torsion or pressure on your coccyx during this exam. Call the doctor's office (that did the endoscopy). They may be able to provide a answer, but the complaint is not common from patients I have sent, nor in my personal experience.
Too vague: Depends on what was its purpose. If it was for screening and nothing was found, usually that's it. If it's to evaluate a particular problem like bleeding, your doctor will decide what other tests to do. Of course, if the colonoscopy finds something, there may be treatment offered. Always know the purpose and the results of any test you get. If unsure, ask the doc.
See below: Depending on the reason for colonoscopy perforation of the colon and bleeding can occur, though these are uncommon. See this site for detailed information on this subject. Http://www. Asge. Org/assets/0/71542/71544/56321364-c4d8-4742-8158-55b6bef2a568.pdf
Yes, you can: A minority of patients prefer no anesthesia and with proper information and instruction, most specialists will perform a colonoscopy without anesthesia. You are correct. ... it is uncomfortable, perhaps very uncomfortable, but tolerable to those who are motivated to tolerate it. Good wishes:)
Liquids: No solid or soft foods ar allowed on the day of the prep. Any liquid that you can see through (clear liquids) is allowed--tea, black coffee, water, juces without pulp, broths, popsicles, hard candy (ie, jolly ranchers). Avoid any red colored fluids as they may give the tissue a bloody appearance and can be confusing.See 1 more doctor answer
How long does it take to gain back weight lost during colonoscopy procedure as eating is very limited for few days.
Mostly water: The weight lost during preparation for colonoscopy is mostly water and could be gained back in one day. However if the weight loss is due to some pathology for which colonoscopy was done, then it would depend on the pathology.
I am having a colonoscopy tomorrow and I am in the process of taking the moviprep. What am I to expect tonight AND during the procedure? Thank you x
Colonoscopy: You will have multiple loose bowel movements that will eventually turn to clear. You may have soreness in the rectal area from the multiple bowel movements. When you go for the procedure itself, you should not feel anything. Afterwards the nurse will ask you to pass the gas that helped to inflate your colon and then they will send you home. You may still be drowsy from the anesthesia after.
