Root canals.. Safe or not? #nqlu I have heard that it is better for your health to get a bridge instead of a root canal. The reason being dead matter is dead matter, and it breeds decay and infection, so best to not do it. Is this true?

Or a bridge, than you have to shave down two more teeth. Don't listen to everything you hear, everyone and every case is different. Ask you dentist to take an x-ray and see if there is an abscess present than see your options. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

I have root canal treatment done 5 years ago to my upper front teeth and since then i had my gum swollen around that teeth . What is the reason?
A few possibilities.: The swollen gum can be because the root canal failed and you got re-infected. If the tooth was crowned, it could be due to an ill-fitting crown or poorly shaped filling that is at the gum line. It could have nothing to do with the root canal and is actually caused by heavy plaque and tartar under the gum. See a dentist for proper diagnosis and treatment. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
