Parenchymal density: is a very nonspecific term, unfortunately. It could mean anything from scar to mass to pneumonia to collapse of a small lung segment. Without the images to review, it is difficult to determine. Likewise, there are both acute and chronic causes of cystic changes. Maybe Viral: The chest infection may be viral and will not respond to any antibiotic. Clarithromycin is a good broad spectrum antibiotic for a chest infection. Get some Mucinex (guaifenesin) DM to help with your symptoms. I hope you feel better soon. ...Read more
