I've been a vegan for a while, but I don't feel as good as I should, I think. I've been considering going raw and eating cooked for dinner. opinion?
Vegan: i don't this eating raw foods will make you better. eating vegan in its own right can be a problem. Are you getting enough nutrients in your diet. How is your protein content, your vitamin A, D, E, K. Your B complex vitamins, and most importantly your iron intake. You may have a deficiency. The health benefits of any form of vegetarianism have resisted demonstration in the major scientific studies largely because vegetarians tend to have other healthy lifestyle considerations. Hard to digest: Many people advocate eating "raw foods" as they believe it has more enzymes & nutrients, but some foods are difficult to digest when raw and wheat is one of them. Most vegan cookie dough has wheat. When was the last time you ate raw flour? Diet: Eating disorders are usually a symptom of something else going on in your life. The cure isn't a change in diet. Instead I urge you to talk out your life issues with someone you trust. I would also urge a different kind of diet. Eliminate all fast foods, high sugar foods, no sodas, anything with high fructose in it. Plan meals and stick to the plan. Benefits unproven: There is much research showing benefits of a vegetarian diet but little research on the additional benefits of a raw vegan diet. Proponents claim it's the best possible diet.It has been shown to often reverse diabetes.I believe eating mostly plants is extremely healthy but don't feel raw is always best for everyone. Too little sodium? Started eating low fat raw vegan and wondering if my sodium levels will drop too low. Consume around 100-150mg a day.
