I'm not sure what: ..units are being used to measure your TSH level, but 100??? In the USA, the standard value that labs use to measure TSH is microunits/ml and normal values range from 0.4 to 4.0 microunits/ml. If you're TSH is 100 mcu/ml, then definitely something's wrong with your thyroid or the hormones regulating it. This test result requires follow up and either clarification or treatment. ...Read more

keep getting constipated due to thyroid condition

Possibly: Constipation can be a symptom of low thyroid, but is also just a very common symptom in many people without thyroid disease. If you are taking levothyroxine, there is no clinical value in measuring a T3 (liothyronine) level. The only lab tests that are of value is a TSH and free T4 level. If these are normal, you are on the correct dose of levothyroxine. ...Read more

Unlikely, DiffIssues: While the thyroid hormone system, controlled from the hypothalamus of the brain, affects many hidden internal issues, the odds that it is a controlling factor in constipation, esp. that varies, is very unlikely. Food choices, hydration, delaying defecating until convenient, lack of physical activity & nervous system control of bowels are likely vastly more powerful issues for constipation. ...Read more

Not sure.: Could be that you are underdosed in your thyroid replacement hormone. I am not sure if 0.406 is your current TSH or not. If it is, it is hard to explain. If this doesn't clear up in a short while you might consider repeating your TSH and using a small dose of t3 (liothyronine). ...Read more
