Vulvar swelling causing friction burn of the labia minora. Diagnosed with vulvitis. Clobetasol works when I use it but swelling returns when I stop.

Swelling, pain, itching on upper/outer right labia minora only. Dr said I do not have yeast infection. What could it be? Any treatments? About 4 days

Possibly infection: This could be an infection such as yeast or bacterial vaginosis, or this could be an irritation reaction to something. Try Hydrocortisone cream for now twice a day, but if not better in a couple of days see a provider. Moderate itching and swelling on the labia minora. Was diagnosed w/bacterial vaginosis. Day 2 on antibiotics and it still itches and is swollen. Relief?

Tips: This is a good article describing some simple home remedies for relief of vaginal itching. Some of them may sound weird to you - like applying yogurt TO the vagina (not eating it) but it's all based on the science of balance between good germs/bad germs. Make sure your family notifies your MD as you may also need some oral medication for yeast treatment.

Vaginal redness & burning around urethra, vestibule, labia minora for 4 daus now. What could this be and what OTC solution should I use?

Vulvovaginitis: Sounds like you have a bad case vulvovaginitis, which is inflammation of the vagina and the surrounding areas. The best way to treat will be to get rid of the offending cause, which can only be done by seeing your doctor. The most likely cause might be a new detergent or change in underwear, otherwise I might consider east, in which case you can get an over-the-counter treatment with monistat. ...Read more

Day3 period, vagina very itchy, labia minora nd area around clitoris & lips is very red very and itchy. Been like that 4 days. Used daktacort nthg hapned?

Likely yeast: Red and itchy is almost always yeast. But it could also be an allergic reaction, or something else. Daktacort contains both an anti-yeast and a steroid, so in theory it should address the two main issues. Unfortunately, there is a lot of "resistant" yeast in the world, which the Daktacort may not kill. I would recommend seeing a GYN for an exam, to rule out other problems. ...Read more

Pimple in labia minora. Just red and hurts to touch. Hasn't grown much but its been smaller. I've had it for at least 1 week.

Evaluation: I think you should have this evaluated by a physician. It's possible that it isn't a pimple and is a vesicle or raised lesion associated with a sexually transmitted infection. It could be a simple cyst and not associated with STI, but you would definitely want it to be evaluated in case there is an infection and you need to be treated. Hope that helps! ...Read more
