Rattle Sensation When Inhaling And Exhaling In Middle Of Chest
Since 6am I have used my rescue inhaler 4 times. Not much relief. Tight chest, moderate wheezing inhaling and exhaling. I haven't experienced this b4.
Upper chest and back have odd sensation when breathing but cannot reproduce feeling with cough or deep breath. What could this be?
2 days ago I had pain in right shoulder emanating to my neck. Today I wake up to find crushing sensation in lower chest when breathing in & same pains?
E.R. can evaluate: Anybody who feels he has a "crushing sensation" in the chest should be evaluated in the E.R. To rule out a heart attack. Calling 911 for an ambulance ride is the safest way to go. If it turns out to be a different problem, such as a collapsed lung, the E.R. Will still be the right place to be. ...Read more

Why do I sometimes feel pain when im breathing especially when I am running. Can feel the pain on the chest area when inhaling. Why?
Chest wall: If pain is aggravated during the moment of breathing deeply, and is not so bad during a breathing pause, it is either coming from your chest wall (ribs, muscles, pleural lining of lungs) or the airways in the lungs themselves (usually happens when breathing cold air). But if pain is constant throughout the breathing cycle and is aggravated by exercise, it could be heart-related. ...Read more
What are some breathing practices I can do to help improve my asthma? My asthma gets bad mostly at night. I will wake up and have to use my emergency inhaler because my chest is so tight. I would like to try to help it by practicing breathing better.
There are no specific breathing exercises you can do to improve your asthma. Often times if you are having asthma symptoms nightly you will need a controller medication, which is usually an inhaled steroid. This is typically taken twice a day as an inhaler and will help alleviate your nighttime symptoms, and also reduce the need for your rescue or emergency inhaler.
One thing that may help is knowing what triggers your asthma, and subsequently avoiding exposure to those things. Common triggers are cold air, exercise, and pets.
Please see your doctor right away so the proper asthma treatment can be initiated. ...Read more
