19 mo old w/ yeast infection for 2 wks. Tried nystatin, monistat, clotrimazole, zinc oxide, triple paste, maloxx, & no diaper. Not working, its worse.
"diaper rash": A number of conditions cause so called "diaper rash." i wonder about the duration of treatment rendered since 6 different creams, independently or in combination, have been used in 2 weeks period. If no response to Nystatin was observed in a week, the child is unlikely to have yeast infection unless immunocompromised. Seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, and zinc deficiency are other possibilities. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

F/36yrs. Low BP, CMPanel/glucose/insulin normal. Creatinine,Urine=145.7mg/dL, Microalbumin,Urine 59.3ug/mL(HI)&Microalb/Creat Ratio 40.7 (Hi). Cause?
Total protein 7.9 albumin 3.7 globulin 4.2. And albumin/globulin ratio is 0.9. Is this concerning?
Neg. 4 HIV. H/S ratio low 0.84. CD4 ratio was low at 30.7. CD8 ratio high at 36.5. Both adsolute were normal CD4 583 CD8 694. Should I be concerned?
HIV negative: The HIV test is the only one that matters. If you were tested long enough after the last possible exposure (4-8 weeks, depending on the particular test or combination of tests), you don't have it. It was pointless to have the other tests. Nobody without a positive HIV test should be tested for CD4 etc. Your results are fine and don't indicate any health problem. Stop testing. ...Read more
Kappa/lambda FLC ratio high (2.75) w/ normal K(10.21mg/dl) & low L(3.68mg/dl). Hem-onc unsure if ratio implies K monoclonality since serum/urine IFE ok & neither chain is elevated. Could monoclonal K be suppressing L? IgA a bit high IgG &IgM a bitlow
Useless test: K/L ratio is not a useful test. About one third of patients without monoclonal immunoglboulin have an abnormal ratio, usually with kappa excess. If you must, the next step would be a bone marrow examination. You may consult this article that I wrote: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27473738 At your age you are unlikely to have myeloma. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Don't think so: Haven't heard of that combination cream. However, individual creams can be prescribed if needed, and a patient can use a little bit from each tube of cream, to treat a particular rash if her doctor feels that such medications are the proper treatment of that rash. Usually, there is more than one type of cream able to treat a rash, which means that alternatives should also be available in the US. ...Read more

Need med history: You need to tell us why was this test done. Did you have some complaints? Once we know your symtoms, if any, it is easier to interpret your lab results. Your liver enzymes are slightly high and so is the globulin level which can occur due to liver problems like Hepatitis. Your doctor needs to recheck these labs in another one or two months and find the cause?hepatitis? ...Read more
My Glucose, Serum is 5 mg/dL
BUN/ Creatinine Ratio is 22
CO2 is 9 mmol/L
AST 54 IU/L
ALT 54 IU/L
What does all this indicate?
Mistake?: Normal BG - 60-100 range. BG of 5 mg/dl produces profound neurologic disturbance. Please recheck that value. BUN could indicate mild dehydration. CO2 -really bicarbonate- is low indicating excess acid in blood stream. AST and ALT both mildly / nonspecifically elevated. Line by line interpretation of labs -not very helpful. Need to know context in which they were drawn in order to understand. ...Read more
