Laryngologist: When the rln is injured, the vocal cord is paralyzed. Be seen by a laryngologist if you havent already. Some injections (dermal fillers) can be done to improve the voice by moving the vocal cord over a few mm. There is s more permanent solution with a procedure called thyroplasty which uses a silastic implant to push the paralyzed cord into a position that improves the voice. ...Read more

Puffy eyes: Thyroid disease can cause under eye puffiness. So can a multitude of other things ranging from allergy to heredity. This can be caused by too much sodium in the diet, which causes water retention.
