HIV rashes: Hi this sounds like two different issues from your question. But, remember there are lots of rashes with viral illness. There are lots of rashes from other exposures and possible infections. The most dangerous rash in this scenario would be one caused by syphilis. Syphilis and HIV seem to go hand in hand these days. I hope you are being tested for both. ...Read more

I have rashes/acnes with white liquid (pus?) which can be easily popped on my chest and neck which appeared a week after taking doxycycline for an UTI
Doxy can cause a: sun sensitivity that can lead to blisters or rashes on sun exposed skin. I would not pop blisters as they are sterile and there is less risk of infection. Try using aquaphor or vaniply and see a derm to confirm or refute diagnosis ...Read more
Difficult to tell: It is tough to tell what this rash could be due to, just based on your general description. The possibilities are numerous. Considering your description, it may be an abscess or cyst (but tough to tell without a picture). You should have your primary doctor or dermatologist actually take a look to better determine the diagnosis. Best wishes. ...Read more

Daughter and I have itchy/pus rash, started on my arms, hers on face. Her dr diagnosed pityriasis rosea. Using contaminated water/septic cause rash?
I have a rash on my face, pus was coming out all night even on my pillow, I have to see my doctor on the 20th but I'm breastfeeding my 4 month old baby. I just want to make sure it's okay to breastfed her with what it seems an infection. Going to ER?
Likely okay: The germ would not enter the breast milk unless you contaminated the feeding surfaces. If you wash your face and washed your hands again afterward it will be therapeutic and reduce contamination of the breast. You might blot the face with hydrogen peroxide & dry with a hair dryer.Peroxide kills staph on contact but wetness aggravates.I'd go to urgent care not an ER. ...Read more

Hi. I've been getting really painful, red, bumpy (sometimes pus-filled), sometimes itchy rashes in places and during times when I sweat more. Allergy?
Using neosporin?: If you are using neosporin on your cut, you are likely having some allergic reaction to the neosporin--a very commom, yet overlooked condition. I would stop that, keep the skn/wpund dry with a little rubbing alcohol 3-4x/day for a few days and you should be good. If not better, call your doc. Good luck. ...Read more
I have a patch of rash on the back of my hand that is about the size of a quarter. It oozes pus. Could it be a reaction to methylisothiazolinone?

My son is 11 and I noticed a rash around his navel 2 days ago. He also had some pus like discharge from around it. What is this and what can be done?
Clean and apply AB: Make sure your son is cleaning the Naval area very well daily. This is commonly ignored area of the body. So it can accumulate dirt and sometimes gets inflamed so most likely commonsense cleaning and using OTC Antibiotic ointment will do the job. If itching can apply Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream. And lastly get it checked by Pediatrician if not improved with this approach in 2 days. ...Read more
