Chronic lymphedema: Your lymphatic system that drains fluids from various body parts was likely inflamed during the cellulitis. The resulting leg swelling can take months to years to forever to completely resolve. Use compression hose, elevate leg as much as possible above level of heart and consider use of a compression machine or massage to reduce the fluid burden. Consult with a vascular surgeon may be helpful.

Shingles: Your son probably has had his first chicken pox shot which will give him some good protection. Not touching or getting near your shingles helps him not get it also.

Not yet: Symptoms such as rash after exposure to something like food may be due to an allergy, but there are multiple things, both allergic and non allergic, that can cause a rash. Food allergy is just one and can be serious if that is the cause. I recommend seeing a board certified allergist for an evaluation and testing.

The: The odds of you having an allergic reaction from a Plan B taken three weeks ago are highly unlikely. Even if this was the case, there is no treatment aside from over the counter Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for itching. Consider other potential allergens like new products, lotions, or soaps. Good luck.

Dermatitis / Scabies: You should visit a dermatologist for proper diagnosis. In the meantime take an antihistamine for the itching. Scabies are caused by tiny mites that burrow under the skin and spreads like a rash. Dermatitis is a skin inflammation characterized by red rash, dry and itchy skin.

Have a burning sensation up one side of my leg, no rash and no other symptoms. Should I be worried?

Depends: Some conditions, the rash appears later. May be a nerve related issue? May be a muscle problem as well (e.g. Tendon injury). If the pain is severe, i'd have your regular doctor give it a check out.

I have developed a rash suddenly with bumps on one leg with burning and itching?

Shingles?: What you describe could be an outbreak of shingles (herpes zoster) which occurs only on one side of the body, breaks out in groups of small blisters that itch and burn. See a doctor to confirm the diagnosis and get appropriate treatment.

See the doctor!: Rash has to be looked at and if it is ringworm your baby's doctor will prescribe anti fungal cream

Fungal infection: The rashes you have, is most probably pityriasis rosea or alba the description fits for the same or other fungal infection. Pityriasis can recur any time. Let you r health provider examine you and explain about this rash also to prescribe medicine. As this rash is not raised not itchy so less likely to be allergic rash.

I recently developed a rash on both of my upper legs they are very itchy. On one of my legs I also have a bruise on the rash?

Rash: An itchy rash in a contained area usually implies contact with something you may be allergic to. The bruise may be from scratching. Let your doctor see it and give you a diagnosis and treat the problem. All the best.

See a dermatologist: It is difficult to make a proper diagnosis since I am not there to see the condition. I recommend seeing a dermatologist so that they can make a proper diagnosis and give you something to get rid of the condition or relieve symptoms.

Shingles?: The most common painful rash that occurs on one side of the body is shingles. Shingles is a rash that forms when the chicken pox virus gets reactivated. It can be very painful and it is best to initiate treatment in the first 48 hours. Please see your doctor as soon as possible for diagnosis and treatment.

One of my students what diagnosed with scabies. I have developed a red rash on my legs but it is flat and not little bumps. It does not itch it burns.

One of my students what diagnosed with scabies. I have developed a red rash on my legs but it is flat and not little bumps. It does not itch it burns.

Unlikely scabies: It is unlikely that you were infected with scabies in a normal classroom situation. You would have to be in physical contact for the scabies to transfer from person to person, or clothes to clothes. Scabies is also very itchy usually, so if your rash doesn't itch it is even less likely to be scabies. If you have recently shaved your legs it may be folliculitis, but only an exam can tell.
