Rash On Bottom Cheeks
9 year old has almost like diaper rash on inside of bottom cheek... Been using a&d but still there. She uses flushable wipes to wipe after bowel moment?
Avoid wipes: Wipes do not necessarily "clean" your bottom and the chemicals may irritate the skin. Try a tub bath and plain dove soap. Rinse very well. Keep the area dry, use only cotton underwear. If it is itchy it may be yeast and you could try anti fungal creams. Be careful it does not look infected, it is "honey crusting" or developing areas that look pus filled, if that is the case see your doc asap. ...Read more

Rash.: So yes it does sound like a viral rash or exanthem of the skin and it easily spreadable or contagious to other individuals who are susceptible like other younger kids, immune suppressed individuals, or anyone else who hasn't been exposed to the virus in the past. As long as symptoms aren't worsening, there should be nothing to worry about in mom or child. See doc if worsening. Good luck. ...Read more
