Child with 4 year old complaints of rashes and small skin eruptions in hand without any itching or irritations, what may be the cause?
Need details: It would be nice to see a picture of the rash to answer your question. Also, is the child 4 years old, or are the complaints of rashes 4 years old. If the child is 4 years old, and the rash is just a few days, in the hands, the feet and the mouth, then it would be cause by a virus, the condition is called hand-foot-mouth disease. It goes away by itself. Rewrite your question if that's not it. ...Read more
My 4 year old has unexplained itching on different parts of her body (no rash) It's not all day long but does happen everyday. What could it be?
Some boys will get an irritation in that area from the heat and being sweaty. Since it's causing symptoms I would apply 1 % hydrocortisone cream and some baby powder

Workup/Mgt: I agree that a food allergy panel called a CAP test is indicated. If the rash occurred particularly within 4 hours of eating the tomatoes, an allergic reaction is most likely. The itchiness as well indicates an allergic reaction. Avoiding the food, and using an antihistamine by mouth is part of the management. I would also suggest a discussion about pediatric epi pen with your physician. ...Read more

My 4 year old son continuously grabs and scratches at his groin area all day long. Even teacher noticed. There is no rash. He has done this since aug?
Normal: Your son does this because it feels good! It's best not to make too much of an issue of this. Redirect his attention to other activities and suggest that this behavior is more appropriate to be done privately. Sexual abuse is also a consideration, so please ensure he stays safe. However, it is not at all unusual for young boys to do this. ...Read more

Fifths: Fifths disease is a common, relatively harmless viral infection - most often seen in kids and characterized by red cheeks followed by a lacy rash on the arms, legs and body. Some people will also have fever for a day or two. It typically resolves on its own without treatment. The only time we really worry about this virus is if it infects someone who is pregnant or someone with a chronic blood disease such as sickle cell anemia, thalessemia, or spherocytosis. The virus can stop the bone marrow from producing red blood cells for a short period of time. This does not usually affect a healthy person, but can affect someone who's red blood cells are not normal in the first place. I attached a website with more information about fifths disease. If she has a chronic blood disease, if her paleness continues, or if she is acting sick at all, give her doctor a call. Good luck! ...Read more

My four yr old has rash on vagina, red a little smelly should I just put aveeno (oatmeal) rash cream? She's not bothered by it, just red. What to do to avoid it
Chemical diaper rash: Applying a barrier (ointments such as a ; d, desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) or vaseline, aveeno) to supplement the skin’s natural protections can help. Rinse the area or have her sit in a tub of tepid water and baking soda to speed healing. Air out the area. Do not wipe since this creates more friction and excoriation of the delicate skin of her genitals. If no improvement over 5-7 days-see your pediatrician. ...Read more

Interesting: Red raised sounds like hives...And why monthly? Do not know. The low grade fever may be from the rash itself.... Do a diet chart and see if there is something that stands out...You will have to do it for a month. Consider allergy testing and seeing a chinese medicine practitioner...And immunologist as well. Hard to tell without seeing the rash what it really is. There are some cyclic disorders. ...Read more
