Rash On 1 Month Old Face
My 1 month old son has developed rashes in form of small red bumps all over his body including face neck chest and back . What should I do ?
Baby acne?: It's likely to be baby acne at his age, assuming that he is otherwise well and feeding normally. Baby acne tends to occur right around this age and looks like red bumps that get redder and stand out more when baby is upset or just after a bath. This goes away on its own in a few weeks. It is caused by maternal hormones that crossed through the placenta. No treatment is needed. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Most bumps and blotches on a newborn baby are harmless and clear up by themselves. By far the most common skin problem in infants is diaper rash. Diaper rash is an irritation of the skin caused by dampness, urine, or feces. Most babies who wear diapers will have some type of diaper rash. However, there are other skin disorders that can cause rashes. These are usually not serious unless ...Read more

Patience: The baby acne is a common event that reflects hormones transferred during the pregnancy. While the baby is floating in moisture, the skin is will not respond, but within weeks of birth they break out for many weeks before the hormone levels begin to drop ; the acne disappears. Keeping the skin clean ; avoiding irritating soaps helps. Occasional use of a 1/2% hc once daily can calm some lesions. ...Read more
My 1 month old son keeps getting red bumps all over his face chest and upper arms on and off. Could this be heat rash, or can he possibly be allergic to the baby wash I use for his bath?
Do you also (as my doctor) see ok to get a cortisone shot and dimetinden therapy when breastfeeding (1 month old baby) due to a heavy nettle rash?
Probably: Some of the medications you take will get into the breast milk but given the severity of your rash, i think the risk /benefit ratio favors taking the medications since the medications would be present in only trace quantities and not likely to affect your infant. How did you get a nettle rash in an austrian winter? I'd have thought that an edelweiss rash would be more likely :)). ...Read more

We have a one month old boy who has a rash over the perimeter of his face, ears, and top of neck. The rash is red with tiny bumps. What should we do?
It will pass: Baby acne is felt to be triggered by babies high level of maternal hormone levels that sustained the pregnancy ; prepaired for breast feeding. The process accelerates for a while before peaking ; the intensity varies. Eventually the hormones ; acne are gone. ...Read more
Is this okay for a 1 month old to do? My baby was born 6lbs 2oz and 19in long. Hes now one month and since like two weeks back hes been eating 4oz of formula milk every 2hours and a half-3hours during the day. At night time it weird, like yeaterday i fini
Don't : Don't wake him up! thank your lucky stars that he's a good sleeper and let him sleep through the night! unless he has a genetic disorder that requires him to eat every few hours (and you would know this because it is part of the newborn screen), it is fine to let him sleep throughout the night - even 8 hours if he'll do it. He may want to eat more during the day if he's sleeping more at night, so if he's draining that 4 oz bottle, you may want to offer 5 or 6 oz. He'll let you know when he's hungry. Congratulations on your baby! ...Read more
