Got a rash on legs knees elbows and buttocks from being at the beach today. Any ideas what caused this? Not itchy- but looked like hives.

Lupus flare: The symptoms you are describing sound pretty severe. Itchy?: At this young age, I would be more suspicious of eczema (atopic dermatitis) which may be linked to food allergies as well as airborne allergens. If these rash itch, then eczema is more likely. If you are using Cetaphil lotion, be sure to use it regularly and apply it within 3 mins after bathing. Talk to your pediatrician. DETAILS????: Why is the child using a laxative? If there is not a very, very good reason, this needs serious attention from a DR, preferably a gastroenterologist.
