Rash Base Of Spine
Left side (lymph gland)groin, has lump and I have small rash at base of spine (shingles). Is shingles cause?
Lets review your que: Shingles usually causes a rash in a dermatome pattern and does not cross the midline. Before the rash appears, there usually and increased sensation/pain in skin/area--sometimes will occur before the rash appears. The rash is raised and looks like chicken pox. The herpes virus lays dormant in the spinal column and sometimes later in life/stress/chemo/immunosuppression the painful rash will appear.See 3 more doctor answers
I have a 6 inch high by 4 inch wide non-itchy rash evenly spread along the base of the spine. What could the be?
Hard to say...: Without more information, it's really difficult to say for certain. Usually things like shingles or herpes have fluid filled bumps. Mild eczema doesn't have to be itchy, it can just tingle or feel irritated. If you're not having fever, it's not painful, and you're feeling well otherwise, its okay to wait a few days before seeing the doctor, but you should get it checked if it doesn't go away.See 1 more doctor answer

So I have psoriasis and rashes from taken lithium nd my spine is very tight special around T3 n T4 is Synthroid (thyroxine) tha next step for anti inflammatory?
Not Synthroid (thyroxine): Hi. Synthroid (levothyroxine) is thyroid hormone, and is not an anti-inflammatory. Do you mean hydrocortisone? Hydrocortisone (and drugs like it: prednisone, triamcinolone, etc) are anti-inflammatory glucocorticoids, and can be used in a variety of types of arthritis. There are other great treatments for psoriatic arthritis if that's what this is, but not Synthroid! It's used to treat hypothyroid.

Neuropathy: This sounds like neuropathic pain. Shingles: Shingles can present with severe pain without a rash. The pain is usually in a strip of skin called a dermatome. Neurontin (gabapentin) may be beneficial. I would discuss treatment of shingles with your doctor. Usually the pain slowly improves over time. Good luck!See 1 more doctor answer

Could be: With a painful rash following a specific nerve distribution pattern, you likely have shingles outbreak. If you have an outbreak, please stay away from anyone who has never had chicken pox, until rash resolves. Go see your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. Your back pain may be related to the rash, or might be unrelated.See 2 more doctor answers
