My hubby has itchy forearms with no rash ect. He also gets a stabbing needle sensation in his knuckles.... Any ideas?
I wake up with swollen and itchy knuckles and fingers with a rash and some of the fingers have cracks that itch and hurt.
Dry skin?: Have your hands been exposed to a lot of soap, detergent, irritant, and water lately? If so it may just be from getting too dry and too irritated. Try some topical Hydrocortisone cream, avoid irritants and too much water, and apply a barrier moisturizer after hand-washing and see if they help. If not, see dematologist. I have a red rash on my hand and knuckles its dry and burns. I think it's a allergic reaction. How long should I wait to see if it goes away.?
7-10 days?: But it is hard to say since it depends much on how severe the reaction has been. Most hand dermatitis are from irritant (soap, detergent, machine oil, frequent washing, frequent hand sanitizer usage etc) Try some topical hydrocortisone cream for a few days and use only unscented soap. Apply hand lotion often especially after washing hands. See dermatologist if not helpful. Read more
Is it wedding ring rash if the dry scaly red rash is only on knuckle and on top of the finger not around? Not itchy. Cleaned rings & still came back.
Maybe an allergy: Your doc can test for such allergies. If so, you can get a jeweler to coat the inside of your ring w/clear solution or you can use clear nail polish. Peace and good heath. Read more
