Raised, bumpy, itchy rash around mouth (where it started) and behind ear. Spreading to face. Have had 3 other times in childhood, now an adult. Ideas?
Perioral dermatitis: Perioral dermatitis vs Ezcema. Excema would be treated with moisturizer and topical steroids, for perioral dermatitis, these are not helpful and would worsen the condition. Sounds most like perioral dermatitis. Things to try: reduce products, they clog and worsen the condition. Regularly cleanse. Try to touch your face less often. Maybe infected or: inflamed? Check for signs of infection: ^'ed redness, warmth, swelling. ^'ed tenderness, pus, red streaking, swollen lymph nodes or fever. Recommend keeping piercing in place unless directed by Dr (if removed – drainage tract will close up w ^'ed risk of abscess formation). Call Dr for medical evaluation. Wife has rash behind left ear and has spread down neck. Neck rash is bumpy but didn't start that way behind ear. Bacitracin hasn't helped?
Rashes: Are hard to diagnose without being seen. A rash in the inner elbow area could be eczema. You can try coconut oil or aveeno (oatmeal) lotion and see if tat helps.
