Hey randy so ur sayin instead of 1 slice of wheat bread a day, I should eat brown rice instead? And how much a day, tryin 2 cut weight. I'm 18, 5'9, 175

Better choice, little: Many believe minimizing sugars ; starches is the best way to lose weight so minimizing all grains help. But brown rice is better than bread because it has a lower glycemic index (50 vs.71) ; lower carbohydrate density (see http://bit. Ly/1btzrp7). Bread also has gluten that some say stimulates appetite ; causes obesity, but this is not universally accepted. The less starches the better. See comment:. ...Read more

Dr. Randy Baker says on Healthtap that most adults need 5000 IU of vitamin D. Isn't that rather a lot? I am 67.

How often?: If you specify HOW OFTEN the recommendation was made then, there'd be more clarity to the question. There is no real tried & tested protocol yet for how much vitamin D should be taken by human beings, if it should really be supplemented at all. You need to get blood tested first. If your numbers are in need of replacement then, it becomes each physician's discretion how to do that safely. ...Read more

Why do we have more desire for sex at night? Plz rply

Is it true?: I have several patients whose desire for sex does not seem to be connected to the time of day. Some people might find that sex has a soporific effect (a tendency to induce sleep) because it results in total-body muscle relaxation. That would be a good reason to prefer it at nighttime. ...Read more

I had my first baby 6 months ago, and after that I lost my drive for sex. What can I do to restore my desire for sex, what drug or food do I take.

It's complicated: Women's sex drives are fueled by many different factors. Certainly hormones play a big role, and yours aren't back to normal yet. But also, fatigue, stress, depression, diet, exercise, all play a role. If it's been a while since you've had sex, you may want to make time to get "reacquainted" with your husband, with non-intercourse touching (like massage) and see where that takes you. ...Read more

I've recently noticed that I no longer feel things the same way. I feel disconnected from my loved ones and I've completely lost all desire for sex.

Sound depressed but:: These are classic symptoms of depression but I would avoid going to a Dr. Who's answer would be to prescribe antidepressant drugs. There may be physiological causes like hypothyroidism, vitamin deficiencies, food allergies or chronic infections like Lyme. Please see a good holistic/integrative doctor. Also consider seeing a good counselor/psychotherapist. Please see my comment too. ...Read more
