How come I have random nose bleeds in only one nostril?

Nose bleeds

Nosebleeds
Your recurrent nose bleeds may be due to a broken blood vessel on that side of your nose. Here are some other reasons for nose bleed reasons: nasal congestion or nasal dryness, ^ blood pressure, excessive use of decongestants, nose picking, or blowing the nose hard. I suggest you see an Ear/Nose/Throat specialist for further evaluation.

My nose bleeds from the right nostril whenever I blow my nose in the shower, it's been weeks of this?

You may have developed an exposed vessel on the nasal septum or caused an abrasion that isn't healing. Blowing your nose in the moist environment is the right way to clean your nose... You may need cautery of the area... very simply done in an ENT's office.

For the past week, i have gotten 5 nose bleeds, from my right nostril, at night. why?

Nose bleeds

Nocturnal
One of the most common reasons for nose bleeds is dry nose. You might be breathing through your mouth or the humidity in your bedroom might be very low. The dryness can cause bleeding because the lining of your nose dries out and can crack. You might have a prominent vessel, as well. Best to have it looked at with this many bleeding episodes just to make sure you don't need some treatment.

Nosebleeds can occur spontaneously when the nasal membranes dry out and crack. This is common in dry climates. People are more susceptible to a bloody nose if they are taking medications like Ibuprofen (advil/motrin). The short list of causes: Infection; Trauma-picking; Allergic/Nonallergic rhinitis; hypertension, medication, alcohol; inherited bleeding problems.

I get a lot of nosebleeds. Usually from my right nostril. And at times it hurts to press on the tip of my nose. Any ideas?

Hello, you may have vestibulitis which is an inflammation inside the nostril area of you nose. If the inflammation is severe, it may be associated with bleeding. An antibiotic ointment may help but I usually recommend a visit to your doctor for a Rx for mupiricin. The OTC ointments may actually make it worse. Your doctor can also see if cautery is needed. This might best be done by an ENT doctor.

I believe I have had a nasal polyp for 5 years in my right nostril. I often get nosebleeds in this nostril. Is this to blame & what should I do?

See an ENT

Head-nose
Nasal polyps usually do not bleed. See an ENT doctor to rule out other causes immediately.

How serious is frequent nosebleeds in only one nostril?

Likely a blood vesse

Bloody_nose
If only from one side a recurrent nosebleed may be from a specific blood vessel bleeding, as opposed to a blood clotting issue. Should have an exam and attempt cautery of that area.
