Raised Red Skin Lesions (Overview)

There are many causes of red "spots" which when touched are not flat on the skin but instead are elevated off the skin. They can be red from scratching or from being bitten by a bug or be a blister from a burn. Some raised lesions have fluid in them such as a blister. When the spot or leasionis red it is usually inflamed. Whelps from an allergic reaction can also be red and raised lesions.

Yeast infection?: The single most common cause of such symptoms is candidiasis (yeast infection, thrush). If so, it seems more severe than average. Herpes might be possible if you are sexually active. Scabies rarely occurs in these locations, but might be possible if you have typical scabies elsewhere (hands, elbows, waist, etc). ?physiologic: During exercise the heart rate, blood pressure, and cardiac output increase and can cause the ears to seem to be "stopped up" and cause the pulsations in the neck.
