Got the standard flu shot today and had some slight raised redness. What is really weird is that I also have the same reaction in the opposite arm??

Got the standard flu shot today and had some slight raised redness. What is really weird is that I also have the same reaction in the opposite arm??

Vaccine reaction: It's normal to have mild local reactions on the same arm where you receive flu vaccine. If there are red spots elsewhere on your body, it is possible that you are having an allergic reaction to your vaccine, and I would contact your doctor, and you can try a dose of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to see if that helps the rash. If you are short of break or have throat swelling you should go to the closest ER. ...Read more

Red, oval shaped, raised patch on my arm. (about an inch long and a CM wide) is not flaky, does not itch or hurt. What could this be?

Large patch: Have your doctor look at it, measure it to determine what it is, especially if its that large and raised. Depends how long you've had it, how much has changed over time, and what you might have done to it to self treat it. Your doctor will refer you to dermatology if they need a second opinion. Glad it doesn't itch, hurt or otherwise bother you. ...Read more
