Heat: Heat rash (miliaria rubra) occurs when your sweat glands become blocked and sweat is trapped under the skin. This can cause a red rash that can either look like little blisters or larger red lumps. It can be itchy or "prickly" which is why many people refer to it as prickly heat. Even though it can be annoying, the good news is that it usually resolves on its own. You can help by preventing sweating such as staying in a cool environment, wear lightweight clothing of breathable material (like cotton), and limiting physical activity in the heat. Calamine lotion can help with the itch. Good luck! ...Read more

6yr old girl rash - one spot 2 weeks ago. Spread small raised red bumps on trunk. First spot is flat in the middle. Now fever, congestion, sore throat?

Rash: Rashes are very difficult to diagnose without some visuals, at least in pictures if not in person. It sounds to me like pityriasis rosea with a herald spot from your description and that the cold symptoms are unrelated. See your pediatrician. Alternatively, you can try Healthtap Prime and upload some photos. ...Read more

Hives: Thisis an allergic reaction most likely. As long as she has no breathing problems or loss of blood pressure these are hives. You can try bendryl but you will need to see your doctor. Look for exposures like a new medication, a food, now fabrices, new chemical exposures, infection = the list is very long and often we can not discover the cause. We call this urticaria. ...Read more

Have rosacea & 2 raised red bumps on cheek. Dr suggest shaving them off & laser. Also have keloids. Will this work? Could it scar badly due to keloid?

Patients who keloid: Can be at higher risk for keloids. I would confirm that you really have keloids and not hypertrophic scars. There is no guarantee so if spots bother you then you can try shave and laser (make sure this is with a dermatologist), but if they don't bother you why take the risk. ...Read more

Angular blepharitis: A picture would be very helpful, and length of time. Sudden onset and within the last 5 days would be more concerning. Redness usually indicates inflammation, and in that region probably caused by a low grade, smouldering kind of reaction to a bacteria that normally lives in harmony on our skin. The treatment would be a mild topical antibiotic - steroid combination ...Read more
