Radish Juice And Thyroid
Any study done on the raw radish juice (or raphanin) having effects on thyroid function? How much radish juice will be beneficial to my thyroid?
Not to my knowledge: In researching your question i found multiple websites repeating the same claim that radishes/raphanin benefits thyroid by "keeping the production of thyroxine & calcitonin in normal balance" basing this claim on research done in russia, but I have not found a single citation to this research. Radish may help the thyroid, but I am skeptical given the lack of research. And no one knows how much. ...Read more

Not really known: Juice plus+ has several products, and since they are not medications approved by the fda, juice plus+ products are probably not tested for interactions and side effects like real medicines are. So, that means nobody really knows what side effects there are. If a juice plus+ user hears of some interaction or thinks he is getting a side effect, he can visit his primary care doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Probably but...: As far as I can tell no one knows for sure. There was one study showing a reduction of T3 and T4 in mice given aloe, but that doesn't mean it would do the same for people. Some recommend it for hyperthyroidism and thyroiditis because it helps balance immune function but I don't know of studies on this. I consider it benign and it does have proven benefits. Likely safe but monitor thyroid function. ...Read more

I'm having a sticky skin after eating fruits or drinking juices. Usually areas of stickiness are on my fold of neck, fold of elbows and fold of knees. What is this?
Unclear: I don't understand what you meant by sticky skin. Is it itching? What color is it? Can you see any rash? The location of the rash is consistent with atopic eczema which is almost always associated with itching. If that's the case, the rash may be triggered by food (fruit) which you have become allergic to. If you want to know the exact allergen, see allergist. Else just avoid them. ...Read more
I got a sudden rash on my neck, it is a red thick line, very red, no itching. Prior I drank a lime juice. What can it be? No other symptoms, ANXIOUS
Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, and physical examination, however if the rash is limited to one side of the body, it may be herpes zoster/shingles. If it does not go away in a day or two, it would be prudent to see a doctor. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex. Get HPV vaccine. ...Read more
