Can I use radiesse (dermal fillers) to make my beak-like nose look straighter? I can't afford plastic surgery for my nose right now, so i'm wondering about using a filler to make it less droopy. Does that work? How long would it last? .

Yes: Radiesse (dermal fillers) can enhance the radix (upper part) of the nose and can make the profile appear more straight. While it will not actually elevate the tip, often the appearance is more pleasing. In this location, Radiesse (dermal fillers) has been found to remain upwards of a year. ...Read more

.

Radiesse (dermal fillers) : Radiesse (dermal fillers) may not be the best filler for your acne scars. Since the material is calcium based, it maybe too hard for your cheeks. I will suggest to use prevelle or juvederm ultra xc, they are hyaluroic acid base injectable, they are much softer than radiesse; they should give you a better result. In addition, not all acne scars are the same and you should differentiate between dermal (skin) and sub dermal (under the skin) components. The treatment options are quite different between the two types of acne scar. If you are not sure please spend the time to consult with a plastic surgeon so you get the appropriate treatment. Good luck! ...Read more

What are some pros and cons on radiesse (dermal fillers)?

What are some pros and cons on radiesse (dermal fillers)?

A good filler option: Radiesse (calcium hydroxyappetite) is a good volumizing deep filler. It can last up to 1 year. It is a thicker filler than hyaluronic acid fillers (restylane (dermal fillers) and juvederm). Because of this feature, it can lead to small temporary lumps especially if injected too superficially, into thinner tissue or specifically into the immediate eyelid area or lips. Consult with an expert injector. ...Read more

Can radiesse (dermal fillers) be dangerous? Does anyone ever have serious reactions to radiesse (dermal fillers)?

.

Radiesse (dermal fillers) : Radiesse might be the safest to inject due to its lack of reactions/side-effects. The biggest problem with Radiesse is that it is not a reversible procedure without surgery. I love the product and it is my #1 choice for naso-labial folds. It is a little more expensive that juvederm and restylane, (dermal fillers) but last twice as long.

.

Pain : Pain is a very subjective and variable thing and varies a lot on one's pain tolerance and where the filler is being injected.

How long does the pain last after radiesse (dermal fillers) injections? I've heard that the radiesse (dermal fillers) shots hurt a lot in your cheeks. Will it go away fast?

.

If : If you get no numbing, then yes, they hurt, a lot! and, yes, the pain goes away, almost immediately. Ice helps greatly.
I have never had a patient complain of pain after the filler was placed. The placement of the filler is uncomfortable, that is why we numb you first. I only use topical anesthetic to do the fillers. I have come to find that dental injections hurt much more than doing fillers with topical only. I leave it on for at least 10 minutes to allow it to "sink in".
There is only one filler injection that i dental numb for and that is filling lips. Even with those, I have had no pain reported post injection. I refuse to use any filler with anesthetic for 2 reasons: 1. Putting the needle in hurts, not after it is removed, 2. It takes up 20% of the syringe volume and it dissolves over the next hour or so. This creates a false reading on the filler placed. ...Read more

Typically, : Typically, there is no significant pain following the injection of facial fillers. The injections can be uncomfortable without some type of anesthetic, and your plastic surgeon should give you the option of a topical anesthetic applied to the skin (moderately decreases skin sensitivity) or a nerve block (a quick injection that very effectively numbs wider regions of the face, including the sensitive areas such as the lips). ...Read more

How long does radiesse (dermal fillers) usually last? I keep reading how it can last a year or more. But how long is normal? I don't really want to be getting injections every 2 or 3 months. .

Radiesse (dermal fillers) : Radiesse lasts, on average 18 months. I have had patients where it lasts over 2 years. The shortest was 18 months.
Botox & Dysport only last 3 months.
Most of the dermal fillers last a year.
Do your research. Radiesse is a great product-i use it regularly-but, it is not reversible. Restylane/perlane and juvederm are reversible. Meaning, if it is done wrong, they can be dissolved with another injection. Radiesse has to be physically remove. Make sure the treating doctor is well versed on injecting radiesse. ...Read more
