Ra: Rheumatoid arthritis can effect the digits of the hands and feet and sometime the cervical spine relatively early. However osteoarthritis, can present with symptoms that are worse in the morning and improve during the day yet worsen with motion. Inflammatory arthrit: Stiff hands first thing in the am usually suggests an inflammatory arthritis. There are other types of arthritis than can cause this other than ra. You should see your doc and make sure to get xrays, esr, CBC among other things. Anti-inflammatories work well for these. ...Read more

See details: Ra is very unlikely when a single finger is involved. Is the finger swollen? Is there an area of tenderness? It could something simple such as tendinitis. See an orthopedist or rheumatologist. ...Read more

Influenza: Hopefully you're immunized yearly with flu vaccine. If you become ill and suspect influenza you should be tested and treated with an antiviral. If you have pulmonary nodules from RA and were previously asymptomatic and now coughing up exudate it would be wise to go back and see your pulmonologist. Ra and its treatments makes you immune suppressed and at risk of very severe infections. Go now. ...Read more

See your doctor: The nodules could be anything from scar tissue due to prior infections, rheumatoid nodules. To cancer. You should ask your doctor about these.
