I've been on 800mg topamax (topiramate) for a couple of months and I took myself off of it. Can you tell some of the symptoms to expect from quitting?
Reason for taking?: It would depend in part on why you were taking the medication in the first place. It's almost never a good idea to "self wean" or decide to go "cold turkey" on a prescription medication especially an anti-epileptic drug such as Topamax (topiramate) without checking with the prescriber first. In this case, the risk could've been rebound seizures (which don't seem to have happened). ...Read more
