Quit Smoking Now 1
Can quitting smokin cause severe akathisia/restlessness? I have been on seroquel for years and Zoloft for one month now. Just began to quit smoking.
Maybe: Zoloft and seroquel are substrates of 3a4, 2d6, and 2c19 liver enzymes. Nicotine is probably neither an inducer nor inhibitor of these cyp450 enzymes (altho it may speed up the metabolism of drugs processed by 1a2 and 2e1 enzymes). Thus your "akathisia" is probably just the result of losing the "calming" effects of the nicotine. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Quit smoking after 26 yrs (1/2 pack a day) never had smokers cough not coughing now... Is this bad? Should i be coughing if my lungs are clearing?
Congratulations: And stop worrying. You did a very good thing. Just as the damage was silent, the modest healing in your large airway structure will also be silent. Your lungs won't "clean themselves" by coughing, though especially if you also start exercising, the pulmonary lymph is likely to carry some of the blackness away. The whole team here is very happy for you. ...Read more

Chatix vs NRT: Currently Chantix combined with non pharmocotherapy - counseling it the best way to quit. This requires a perscription.
