Q Vagina Testing
Urinary incontinence: The Q-Tip® test is a simple diagnostic tool that assesses for hypermobility of the urethrovesical junction. If the angle between the urine pipe and the bladder isn't right or shifts easily (hypermobility), that can be a cause for women to leak urine under stress. To perform the Q-Tip test, a sterile, well-lubricated cotton-tipped swab is placed in to the urethra (not vagina). ...Read more
All testing has came back negative, what would slow down cell turn over in the vagina and cause discharge to pool/thicken rather than exit the vag?
Vaginal overgrowth: Bacterial vaginosis is an overgrowth of normal vaginal flora. The vaginal discharge can increase from sexual activity, from douching ( not recommended), and a host of other reasons, including stress. I suspect this is what you are dealing with. The secretions are typical mucous, which will be sticky and not just "fall out" of the vagina. ...Read more
Is it possible for a woman without any external hsv1 symptoms to have it inside of the vagina and not know it? If so is there testing available?
Yes: So traditionally HSV was responsible for oral lesion and HSV 2 genital lesions. They are commonly in both areas now. You can have virus present anywhere in the body without having a visible lesions, or the lesion may be visible but very hard to see. You can do blood to see if you have been exposed in the past, but there is not really a test to see if a lesion is there but hard to see ...Read more
I have recently been very itchy around my clitorus and outside the vagina.I don't have insurance how much would the testing cost?
Any discharge?: Common causes of genital itching in females are infections with yeast, trichomonas or bacterial vaginitis. If you feel the itch in the pubic area were people shave it could be piodermititis( pt has pimple like lesions )or a reaction to creams or to the blades. Dryness and itching are more common during the pre ovulating phase or postmenopausal. If you suspect stds you need cultures & tests. ...Read more

2nd part: Herpes genitalis can cause burning, stinging even before the small tiny blisters show up. The most likely diagnosis is yeast ( candida albicans). I had proteus mirabilis in my vagina not my bladder. Therefore no uti, just bacteria in my vagina. How would my husband be tested for it and is it necessary? Also what type of doctor would do testing?
Not typical: Proteus mirabilis is not a typical pathogen of vaginal infections. It is more typical of uti's, but you probably already know this. In terms of your husband, it is not considered an std and it is not associated with miscarriage. He could simply have a urine culture performed by a primary doctor if you are still concerned. Talk with your ob/gyn. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Fingered by male friend through clothes(leggings + underwear).Vagina bled a couple drops.Hiv/sti risk if a couple drops precum on his finger?Testing?
Maybe get seen: The risk is negligible. I answered an almost-identical question yesterday. If you are very distressed about what happened, please do get with your personal physician for a checkup, perhaps some labs, and a good discussion. This might be a great time to talk about feelings -- life, and especially the romantic side -- is scary and confusing, and if you FEEL something's wrong, do get seen. ...Read more

Have a spot on outer vagina lips. Small smooth black dot. Just showed up one day. Just had pregnancy test, bacterial infection/STI Testing. All clean.
Pigmented lesion: This could be due to several things-- a vascular lesion, or a melanocytic (nevus-like) lesion. Given the small size and smooth surface, it is unlikely to be a problem, though if it is a melanocytic lesion, it bears watching, and possible removal if any enlargement of other change occurs. Vulvar melanoma is uncommon, but may develop from long-ignored precursor lesions. ...Read more

I got tested for hpv came back negative but I see a bump on the inner side of my vagina what can it be?
Many possibilities: There are all sorts of bumps and irregularities of the labia minor, vaginal lining, etc. It could still be a genital warts despite your negative HPV test. But probably not; genital warts rarely occur as single bumps, usually several. Various cysts, skin tags, etc are very common as well. You'll need to be examined in person, preferably by the doctor or clinic where your pap and HPV test were done. ...Read more
What can cause a burning raw sensation after urination in my vagina i have been tested for gohnarea and clahmidia both negative. What could i have?
Vaginal pain: Frequently yeast organisms cause inflammation on the walls of the vagina, and urine can be acidic and concentrated which acts like an irritant on the vaginal walls. Try drinking more water to dilute the urine, and you might try "over the counter" remedies for yeast. Consult your gyn provider if symptoms persist. ...Read more
I have a small bump on the my vagina that's under my skin and about the size of a pea, it doesn't hurt if I don't touch it. Its not read or has got any bigger. I also am wanting to get tested for anything, where should I go?
Needs physical exam: What is described here is most compatible with either a trapped hair (if you shave) or a small lipoma. A lipoma is a collection of fatty tissue under the skin. It is not cancerous but may grow. Other "nodules" include fibromas which are rarer, and thicker tissue. Also, benigh. Nonetheless, all vulvar "lesions" should be evaluated by a gynecologist. Any gyn md can also provide infection testing. ...Read more

Can a probiotic cause smelly vagina and tingling ? I have already been tested for clamydia and flora cultures and all came back fine
Antibiotics lately?: One cause, as you suggest, may be an alteration in the flora that colonize your vagina (this is typically seen with recent antibiotic use). Probiotics, on the other hand, alter the flora of the gut. As such, probiotics would not be expected to impact significantly the vaginal flora unless there is cross contamination or a fistulous connection between the two otherwise unconnected spaces. ...Read more

Vulvovaginal itching: Hello Ezerae, vulvovaginal itching with chunks of itchy white stuff sounds more like a yeast infection than a UTI. You could try an over the counter yeast infection treatment. Why does my vagina has a smell when i was just tested for any BV and the test was negative and also tested for sti's/ std's and everything was good?
Vaginal odor: Diet, particularly what women drink, can affect vaginal odor as well as infections. Soda, pop, coffee, tea, juice, alcohol, flavored water, and electrolyte drinks are all diuretics; they make a woman very dry, and sometimes her vaginal secretions very thick and odorous. Drinking plain water, decreasing diuretics, and eating fresh fruit and vegetables (natural water) help if this is the cause. ...Read more
