I was prescribed Pylera, unfortunately last night, a single dose broke and I couldn't take it. I am 2 days away from finishing. Will this effect it?

They well may: Killing bacteria takes time and being a battlefield does not feel good, but if some are left alive - yes, they can win the battle and the ones that survived are the strongest. Don't stop a Rx w/out 1st talking w/ your provider. Late is better than never - so call ASAP to get some treatment going. Ask for help w/ side effects and lots of info. Maybe, but...: Malabsorption is complex and may reflect bacterial fermentation from sibo, small bowel inflammation or mucosal disease (lots of causes), GI transit issues, pancreatic enzyme activity and sufficiency, etc. Since we can't say in your specific case what to expect, a word of advice may include a fructose re-trial if your doctor agrees after sibo eradication or treatment of enteritis (if present). ...Read more
