Unlikely related: There should be no residual infection after 3 months; sounds like the infection is from the remaining tooth and not the extracted tooth.
Infection is either a gum or tooth abscess. Why was the previous tooth extracted - if for a periodontal (gum) infection then that is probably what is happening here and you need to be treated by a periodontist to get rid of the infection and save your teeth. ...Read more
