I have a huge bump of puss in my gums. It happens only seasonal whenever the weather changes from cold to summer. My teeth are ok. What could this be?

A lump on the gums is an abscess. Typically, there are 3 reasons for it. 1) endodontic - the pulp of the tooth is infected. Could be due to a cavity or trauma. 2) periodontic - the is an infection around the tooth. There is a space between the tooth and gums where bacteria can get trapped and abscess. 3) a fractured tooth.

2 years ago I had a upper molar pulled, 3 months later the gum area was sore and when I push on it, smelly puss comes out around the next tooth.
There should be no residual infection after 3 months; sounds like the infection is from the remaining tooth and not the extracted tooth.
Infection is either a gum or tooth abscess. Why was the previous tooth extracted - if for a periodontal (gum) infection then that is probably what is happening here and you need to be treated by a periodontist to get rid of the infection and save your teeth. ...Read more
