Yes and no: tonsillitis is inflammation by definition, so, no, you can't have tonsillitis w'out inflammation. Please...: Do not press on your tonsils! There is no reason to do so, and if you had an infection you can spread it that way! Cryptic tonsils are not necessarily calling for treatment.
