Gonorrhea...: Yellowish urethral discharge in a sexually active man should be checked if getting STD-related urethritis esp.& specifically from gonorrhea. How to sort these out correctly? Female, 59, new sticky greenish discharge from urethra, smells bad but no pain. What to do?

See a doctor: This sort of symptom needs in-person professional evaluation. Are you sure the dishcarge is from the urethra, not vagina? In any case, it sounds like an infection, although atypical for most urinary tract infections. STDs are possible if at risk, but quite rare at your age. Don't mess around with this; see your doctor ASAP. Good luck!

Be evaluated...: Go to be evaluated since no definite answer can arrive by online inquiry alone. To get right care, one needs to review the detailed Hx of onset, degree, duration, evolution, sexual history, etc. Of the symptoms and other related symptoms + findings of physical exam & testing as needed. How to? Follow instructions in http://formefirst. Com/eNewsletter06.html.

Infection? STD?: There has been little or no research urethral discharge in women. In men, almost all cases are due STDs (e.g. chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomonas). Obviously this depends on your and/or a sex partner's risk for STD; a non-STD urinary tract infection might be possible, except apparently you have no painful urination, urgency, ec. What did your doctor say? Were you tested for these STDs and UTI?

Brown discharge: A brown urethral discharge may be a sign of an infection, so see the dr. For an evaluation. Don't miss Birth control as it works best when taken daily! Have the Dr. Check a pregnancy test too if you miss your period. Good luck to you.

See a doc: You need a formal evaluation, an urethral discharge in a 20 year old male definitely warrants STD check up. A lot of young adults are asymptomatic; risks are for gonorrhoea and chlamydia. It is in my opinion more important to find out what you have and help you get better. For that you will need to be seen and they will need to run some tests on the discharge or urine most likely; be safe. -Peace.
