Don't worry: It is normal to see some veins in the palm of the hand. They are more visible, however, if you're hands are very slender or if you are very pale, so there is more contrast. Veins are also more visible when you are well hydrated and warm or when your hands are held down below your elbows, which makes the veins dilate slightly. ...Read more
Normal finding: I am amazed about how often I have women ask me about the veins on their breast. Occasionally they are spider veins but mostly they are blue veins. These are almost always normal findings and normal variations of chest veins. They tend to be more pronounced in fair skinned females and they may be related to hereditary factors or even pregnancies. No treatment is necessary unless for cosmetics. ...Read more

Hi I have dark blue/ purple veins on the inside of my hand and they feel itching from within is that normal?
Doesn't sound normal: Sounds like the way my hands feel after being in the snow, but it says you are in Australia, so unless you work in a cold environment (meat section of grocery store etc) it is unlikely this is a response to low temperature! Could possibly be an allergic response causing the itching. Best thing is to have a Dr examine your skin, check the circulation in hands and determine the best treatment. ...Read more

No, just watch if.: Watch if it changes. There is no significance to an enlarged vein unless there is a nearby growth or tumor. Just look around for anything obvious.
