Spots: I would think this is most likely "floaters' or particulate matter floating in the vitreous of you eye. Retinal problem possible, but most people describe "flashing light" symptoms. Some type of lens problem also possible. See an eye specialist. ...Read more

Not likely: At 26 years old, it's very unlikely unless you've had some sort of trauma to that eye. If the spots are floating around in your vision (vs. Visible on your eyeball in the mirror), it's likely you've developed floaters. New-onset floaters should be checked out by an eye md (ophthalmologist) to ensure that they haven't caused any tears in the retina which would require lasering. ...Read more

Benign hemorrhage : If the spots developed suddenly and are painless, they are probably just conjunctival hemorrhages. Eye rubbing or a good cough can cause them. If you are on a blood thinning drug like Aspirin or Coumadin (warfarin) they can get happen more frequently. The spots should slowly go away over the next week or so.
