Check bruises out: It sounds like those are bruises, or blood vessels that are breaking. Without trauma as a cause, they could be from a bleeding problem from disease (like liver, or blood abnormality) or medications (like Aspirin or similar drugs, or coumadin) or even some kinds of cancers (leukemia). Need X-Ray Vision: Could be either or something else. To be sure, the hand should be examined in-person and a decision made as to what to do , especially at this age. Would be important to know the exact circumstances of the injury, if any, or if it was from repetitive activities.
