Purple Spots On Fingernail
White Spots Nails: Difficult to answer without seeing these. It sounds as if it might be a harmless superficial fungous infection. Or, perhaps, from a nail cosmetic you may be using. See a dermatologist if you are worried about them.
Can be a lot: Fingernail disorders can be wide and varied as far as causes. Dermatologists are experts in fingernail diseases. White markings, called leukonychia, can be caused by trauma, infections, drugs, or other systemic diseases.
See below: You have symptoms which could be serious and should see your physician. He/she will listen to you, do a physical examinarion, run some tests, and let you know what's going on.
I have white spots on 7 of my fingernails, some on more fingernails than others. What underlying diseases could cause this?
Very unlikely.: White spots on nails are normally due to everyday sorts of trauma, such as knocking your nail against a hard surface. They disappear over time. In the rare instance that they don't, a superficial fungal infection may be present, and that would require the attention of a dermatologist.
A few months white spots appeared on my right index fingernail. Right now the spots are gone but it left it feeling rough. Please how and why did this happen to me? And how do I fix my it?
Wrong question: You want to know about rough spots on nails. The white spots are harmless and not a sign of anything. Forget about the white spots. There are many of causes for nail changes. If it is important, see a dermatologist, who will look at your skin & nails while asking you many questions. Meanwhile you can use a moisturizer cream and rub in at least 5 times a day.
Let me explain: They're called "leukonychia" and are very common. Most of the time the white spots simply are a sign of some past injury to the matrix (base) of your nails. By the time the white spot shows up (about six weeks after the injury) you've probably forgotten all about banging or knocking your fingers. Sometimes, the injury can stem from a manicure that put excessive pressure on the base of the nails.
What are whte spots under fingernails? I am 61 years old taking aspirn and nitroderm patches. 5 from 8am to 8pm. Thank you.
Various causes: White spots of the fingernails are common and may be due to protein deficiency, calcium deficiency, zinc deficiency, liver, disease, kidney disease et al. I don't think they're from your medications. They're probably not due to any major health problem in your case, but it is a good idea to take a multivitamin with minerals and include calcium in your diet. Your md can advise you best, however.
My fingernails look discolored and always break. I also have white spots on multiple finger beds. What can I do to make them look healthier?

I have white spots all over all my fingernails, multiple spots on every one and they continue to mulitply and come back, even when the nail grow out! I?
Be gentle to nails!: This article is great because it discusses different nail issues. What you describe, leukonychia, is thought to be due to injury of the nail bed. Possibly: Clubbing can be related to many pulmonary conditions, including emphysema and cancer. What is obviously concerning is that your doctor saw 'spots' on your lungs (by an xray I would presume). You need to make sure that you are scheduled for further work up soon. And you need to STOP SMOKING! It's the best thing you can do for your body.
I have white spots on 7 of my fingernails & some have 3 spots on one nail. I know it is common but should I be worried? Last manicure was 5 months ago
Relax: White dots in finger nails signify previous minor injuries to the cuticle. They gradually grow out with the nail over about 6 months. Isotretinoin, usually taken for 20 weeks, causes temporary dryness of skin, moucous membranes, eyes, hair, nails, etc. Headache is worse if you take vitamins with vit a (not food): avoid vit. Pills while on isotretinoin. You may need to reduce the dose or even stop.
Had pimples on my face, I crushed those by fingernails Now there are black spots. I tried BetnovateN but it's not working. Which cream will remove it?
No crush treatment: Thank u for your question. It would be nice to see a picture, but these black spots could be increase pigment as result of betnovate or healing tissues. There are many options yet. Stop using betnovate and see dermatologist. There are pills and creams that could help with further pimples. Do not crush them yourselves.
