Down under the toe.: It sounds as though you've managed to injure the toe. Bruising is a sign of underlying tissue damage and steps should be taken to minimize further damage. Exercising should be eliminated until the effects of the injury are under control. Ice compression, elevation and rest are the mainstays of treatment. I can't tell from your description as to whether the blood spots are tender themselves or are these dilated vessels, are there areas of loss of tissue, or are there neurologic issues involved,so we need more information. Needle pain: This sounds like nerve contusion, depending on the location at the heel , and definitely at the toe. Without a physical exam it sounds like over pronation resulting in the big toe pain.
