I notice that my husband has a small purple spot on his earlobe. Should this be of concern........or is it a hickey.?
Purple spot: If it is a single small purple spot it is likely a type of benign nevus or hemangioma. A hickey would generally be at least 2-3 cm in diameter, and that is not "small" by dermatologic standards. If it gets larger, changes colors, etc, it should be examined and possibly biopsied by a physician.
No: No nodule? No pain? No itching? No skin irregularity? No trauma? The ENT doctors can add to this. I do not know the cause of your your purple earlobe. From an acupuncture standpoint, it may result from stagnant energy and blood. The ear is considered a microsystem which reflects the health of the body. Lesions on the ear often correspond to illness in specific areas or organs of the body. A medical acupuncturist can use a point finder to locate a specific point or points on your ear that are indicative of lack of health in the corresponding part of your body. It is remarkable how accurate aricular acupuncture can be. There are many doctors (md's and do's) in the United States who practice acupuncture. The practice of acupuncture has spread from both asia and europe to the us.See 1 more doctor answer

I ate large quantity of beets and my urine turned purple for a day. I just noticed purple ear wax on my headphones. Is that even possible?
Way cool!: So, tried answering question earlier, but had tech error. "Beeturia, " the change in your urine, is common. Since the dye from the beet travels through your entire bloodstream, it makes total sense you would secrete it in new earwax. Then I thought, "wow, what would it do to the brain? " So I net surfed & found that's exactly how the blood-brain barrier was discovered! The dye can't penetrate it!
