Check it out: Random bumps are always a concern for the doctor. Generally speaking , it's probably nothing but you want to be sure as abnormalities can present as symptoms to worse scenarios. It's possible that its related to the trauma during surgery or postoperatively if you bit your lip. Usually time and not messing with it will help it go away. ...Read more

I have a bump inside my lower right lip. I've heard that it can be a mucocele but mine is colored clear is it still a mucocele?

There are other possible lesions that might appear similar and even some mucoceles need treatment other than just "popping" it. ...Read more

Sometimes you can get firm lesions which are called fibromas which are basically scar tissue. Mucoceles can enlarge, burst then return. The only way to get rid of them is to remove the damaged gland tissue and duct. ...Read more

A friend of mine had a lip injection put in 2 years ago.Now there are small lip bumps and discoloration of lips, but no pain. What might be the possible causes?

Some of the longer-lasting fillers, e.g. Calcium hydroxylapatite, can cause lumps, which is why they are not supposed to be used in the lips. Ditto liquid silicone, which can cause permanent lumps. Your friend will have to find out what it was from whoever did the injecting. ...Read more
