A vein up on the left side of my nose by my eye socket has started to pulsate quite noticeably lately it has never before, is this normal?

Most of the time when you have a throbbing area near the temple it's likely due to a migraine or tension headache. However, if the temple is very tender to the touch then we will be worried about something called giant cell arteritis. Are you having any numbness in the jaw or face?
