What caused his hand to pull up toward his forearm in the middle of the night... very painful... could see the tendon pulling, then finally subsided?
Surgical operation done on tendon on my arm 5 months ago. Should the arm be just as strong as the other side?
Not always: Quite a few things play a role in achieving strength. Which tendon (hand vs biceps vs rotator cuff- the more proximal tend to take longer to recover). How long you had to protect it before starting rehab, and (brace yourself) whether you did your exercises as dilligently as you were supposed to. I'd talk with the surgeon who did the repair and ask this same question. Get a second opinion if unsure. ...Read more
I have been diagnosed with a damaged tendon in my shoulder but why is the pain mostly in my arm and so badly unbearable at night ?
Normal symptoms: This is typical for a tendon problem. The tendon is the end if a muscle where it connects to the bone. If it is torn the pain often follows the course of the muscle. Unusual but possible: Tennis elbow surgery – lateral epicondylitis release and repair, is commonly associated with a protracted time to recover. At seven months though, i would expect most soft tissue changes from surgery to have recovered and remodeled. Pain associated with hypothermia suggests relative poor circulation to the tissue that improves with heat and revascularization; frictional rubbing helps with both. ...Read more

U need to talk it --:
over with your surgeon, as all of us have our own postop routines that we follow. Your surgeon is the only one who knows the type of repair, the quality of your tissues, and the repair he obtained.

Maybe, but: Since you were diagnosed with a fracture, that certainly may be affecting your range of motion. Your dr should be following up with you to assure you are progressing normally.
