Possible hernia: Your doctor is probably right--a "pulled muscle" may take days to heal, or may worsen if you repeat the behavior that caused the injury. Try a heating pad for this. However, hernias do occur, & may not be readily apparent on physical exam since there are so many different layers of abdominal wall..
