Torn adductor/ham: With this type of injury and bruising, I often think first of a partial tear of the groin/adductor or hamstring tendons or muscles. It would be wise to try and get a definitive diagnosis and receive a plan for rehab, recovery time and return-to-play recommendations. It may take several months to heal. Yes: Yes, you should see your doctor for your pain. What you are experiencing may be referred pain. I think I pulled a muscle in my leg/groin area. What can I do to make me better? Should I see a doctor?
Pulled Muscle Leg: When you "pull" a muscle in your leg, you have either a grade i, ii, or iii strain of that muscle. Grade I is an overstretch of the muscle and needs icing, stretching, and then restrengthening. Grade ii is a partial tear and more serious. Grade iii is a complete tear and can even require surgery (david lee for the golden gate warriors!). So, see an orthopedist and get a diagnosis. See a pt after. ...Read more
I run and bike for exercise. For the last couple years my groin has been getting very tight and I sometimes get a sharp pain when trying to lift my leg. It feels like a muscle pull. I can stretch and it feels better after warming up. I stretch freque?
Varies: There are multiple potential causes, I would not hesitate to be seen. In the field of orthopedics, one of the most common causes of groin pain is a problem with the hip itself. This can be from an early arthritic condition or something like a Labral tear. This would go along with the description of reproduction of pain when you lift your leg and also the stiffness you describe. ...Read more

Lot of pain left groin buttock top of left leg can't put pressure on without using a stick but no swelling or bruising is it a pulled muscle?
Sounds like hip prob: With that pain pattern 1 would think of hip. This is especially true if there was no injury. If it came on due 2 a strain or injury it could b muscle, but the weight bearing seems 2 point 2 the hip especially if u have the pain just standing & not trying 2 move. The best plan is 2 b cn by an orthopedic surgeon 4 x-rays & exam. ...Read more

Had my first pap smear on 3/20/17 and my groin has pain still as of 4/7/17. Is it a pulled groin muscle, as when she did the exam it hurt a lot.?
Switch doctor: Regardless of your age and of your Gyn, sexual or obstetrical history...you should expect your Gyn exam, speculum exam or Pap test to be done skillfully and to cause you no pain. Since you felt that "when she did exam it hurt a lot", it would be wise to "switch" and to seek a more caring and more experienced clinician (doctor, Gyn, nurse-practitioner...) to check on your groin pain. ...Read more
Hard to say without: Knowing more specifics as in how severe the "pull" was. But in general even for mild strains, resting for 2 weeks isn't unreasonable with a graded (slow increase) reintroduction into exercise after that. Listen to your body, if you're not a professional athlete, "no pain, no gain" really doesn't apply to you. If it hurts, decrease the intensity or just avoid it all together and retry later. ...Read more
